Human Rights
Learn about Afghan Women
Within the domain of The Taliban, Human rights violations are increasing especially for women. These rules extend beyond their individual lives since they are also affectings families, communities, and the nation as a whole. To begin with, girls are not allowed to go to school beyond 6th grade, which unfortunately can crush the dreams and hopes of young teenage girls. Afghan women are also prohibited from doing certain jobs and their participation in the job market has been decreasing since 2019. In addition, women have many restrictions related to freedom of movement and dress code. They are only allowed to leave their house in some urgent cases and they can only go if they are in the company of a male relative. Forced and child marriages are also frequent. These engagements end up robbing these children from their childhood, taking away opportunities for education and personal development. These practices perpetuate a cycle of poverty and dependency, leaving many women with little choice but to accept their circumstances.

By signing this petition, you are providing unified and stronger actions towards this cause, persuading the Taliban to respect and protect women's rights.
